Rationale

This module examines the application and management of Big Data. Big Data relates to datasets whose size is beyond the ability of typical database software tools to capture, store, manage, and analyse.

To specify the functional and data requirements for Big Data applications
To evaluate Big Data models and their associated structures
To handle structured, semi-structured and unstructured and appropriate storage regimes
To manage data distribution and the processing of Big Data
To confirm with legal and ethical framework for the use and security of Big Data
